Marc by Marc Jacobs
Marc by Marc Jacobs by frecklegrrl featuring marc by marc jacobs jewelry
Everyone has that one designer or line that has made them fall in love with fashion, with the industry, with the magic fashion brings. For me, it was Marc Jacobs - and in particular, his line Marc by Marc Jacobs. I am in love with every single collection this line brings, season after season. If I could only own one designer's line for the rest of my life, it would be a no-brainer...I'd choose Marc in less than a second!

Living Literate
Living Literate by frecklegrrl featuring kate spade handbags
To complete one of my New Years resolutions, to read more, I started a second blog that will keep me on track! It's called "Living Literate" and you can find it here at http://livingliterate.blogspot.com/ It's a little place for me to post about the books I'm reading, the books I want to read and review the books I've read.
Maybe you'll take a little peek?

Girly, Preppy and Polka Dots

What's your style?
The beginning of the new year is the perfect time to clean out your closet, reconsider your style and shop the post-Christmas sales for a new piece - or two - for your wardrobe. Whether you're a style newbie or a tried-and-true fashion blogger, everyone could use a little revitalization into your closet during the new year. In the spirit of all things new, I've started to reconsider my style and have compiled a list of things I hope to add to my wardrobe in the coming months.
My style, up until this point, has been - in one word - basic. I have always loved fashion and I have a very different eye when picking clothes for others than picking clothes for myself. Part of the reasoning behind this is because I lack a bit of self-confidence needed to rock the pieces I fall in love with for others, and part of the reasoning is because I have always been a little overweight, so pieces I love on others would not necessarily look that great on me.
This year, as I take hold of my health and lose the excess weight I've been holding onto throughout my adolescence, I will be reconsidering my wardrobe and my own personal style. I've always loved the girly/preppy aesthetic and I think it's what I want to channel in my wardrobe.
Some of the pieces I hope to add to my closet in the next few months are:
10. Florals, lots and lots of florals.
9. Tory Burch flats
8. Diamond-or faux diamond- studs
7. Polka dots, polka dots, polka dots!
6. Cardigans
5. Hunter rain boots
4. Longchamp Tote
3. Metallic coach clutch
2. Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats
1. Pearl Earrings

Girly on the Couch
Girly by frecklegrrl featuring post earrings
A cute outfit to brighten up gray winter days is the perfect answer to post-Christmas blues. I've been quarantined to the couch the past few days as I recover from wisdom teeth extraction, but that hasn't stopped me from checking out all the fabulous online sales that are going on! Sadly for me, this means a lot of window shopping since I'm a broke college student, but looking doesn't cost anything!
Being on the couch has also given me a lot of time to finish "required reading" - the January issues of all my favorite fashion magazines, the Teen Vogue Fashion Handbook (for only about the hundredth time) and a few other scattered fashion books - and watch some amazing fashion documentaries - The September Issue (again...and again...and again), Bill Cunningham New York, Fashion in Film and whatever else I can scrounge up on Netflix to get my fashion fix. I've also been surfing the web for new blogs to follow, read and fall in love with - and I have to say, there is no shortage of fresh talent out in the blogosphere.
What are you favorite fashion books, magazines, blogs and documentaries? Fill me in!

How I'm Ending 2011
How I'm Ending 2011 by frecklegrrl featuring denim jeans
How I'm Ending 2011: Hanging Out, home bound, with my at-home-BFF doing what we do best. Watching crappy movies on Netflix, eating way too much ice cream and Jello, having dance parties and Facebook stalking our old classmates and making tons of collages.
Not the most exciting end of 2011, but sounds like a decent time to me.
How are you spending NYE?
