FBFF: What I'm Thankful For

This week for Fashion-Beauty Friend Friday, we're thinking about thankfulness - how timely as Thanksgiving is less than a week away (ee!). Here's the prompt: As tradition... for the Friday beforeThanksgiving. What are the things you are most thankful for right now?

I am thankful for many things, and this post definitely made me think about all the blessings I have -- which I narrowed down to a top ten list of things I am thankful for. So here we go:

Top Ten Things I am Thankful For This Year

10. Shopping and Fashion (:

I love clothes and fashion and shopping. I am so happy it's my passion and that I know what I want to do with the rest of my life. (:

9. Nature

Nature is goregous, and it makes me so happy that we live in a world where it can be seen everywhere. I know it sounds silly, but I always have nightmares like that one Carebears episode where they coat everything with concrete and the Care Bears have to undo it... (Wow, I can't believe I just admited this.)

8. Books

Books...such a great escape from reality.

7. Music

I don't know what I'd do without music, it does so much for me. No day is complete without it and it does miracles with my mood and such.

6. New opportunitiesI'm so excited about my opportunity with the Disney College Progam -- and I'm so lucky to have so many blessings on the way. (:

5. Good health

I'm so happy that my friends, my family and I have all been blessed with good health this year, in the past, and (hopefully) well into the future. I say thanks everyday for this.

4. Education
I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to pursue a higher education, especially at Mizzou. I love it here and am so happy about the knowledge that I am gaining.

3. My school friends

I've met some great friends here in CoMo and I'm so lucky to have them! I would trust them with anything and I know that they always have my back. Always. Sometimes even when I don't necessarily deserve it. Not all are pictured here, but those who aren't know who they are.

2. My home friends

My friends from home... words cannot describe how much I love them. This is only a few of them but I know that they will always be there for me and I have so many great memories its ridiculous. I can't wait to see them over break!

1. My family

I love my family. Here's a photo of three of my cousins at my sister's wedding reception, but I love my entire family - extended to insular - even though I can't seem to find a huge picture of all of them on my computer. They're always here for me, no matter what, and can always make me smile. I love them soooo much and I can't believe I get to see them tomorrow! I'm so excited!

What are you thankful for this holiday season?

Holiday Spirit

Holiday Spirit

Remember when yesterday I was in a Spring state of mind? Well that's far gone now, thanks to a lot of talking with my family on the phone last night and 26 degree weather today! Now, I am even more excited to go home (ee!!) and for the holiday season.

I've been listening to Christmas music all day on Pandora and have been packing and getting work done so I have as little homework to do over break as possible. I can't believe its almost Thanksgiving!

How excited are you for break?

Spring State of Mind (in 40 degree weather)

Untitled #59

I know its November, and next week is Thanksgiving, but right now I am in such a Spring state of mind. The weather is freezing but I've been doing some Spring cleaning, both in my life and in reality, so my brain's been set on the warmer months.

Maybe, perhaps, when I go home for break on Saturday (ee!) I'll go back to the Christmas spirit I am meant to be.

Sparkle and Shine

Girly Blush

Today, all I felt like was sparkle and shine. I wanted glitter and sequins and rhinestones and all that sparkles with the elegance of blush and flowers and pearls. This is the outfit I felt like wearing.

But, alas, in reality, I setteld for glass beads, polka dots and black cutout flats. Same idea, not nearly as fun.

Maybe these items will make it onto my Christmas list....are you listening Santa?

Music Monday

A song to get you through your Monday. I love this song and my roommate and I have been listening to it nonstop all weekend.

Stylish School Spirit (Say that 3 times fast)

mizzou-RAH!

Mizzou-RAH! Mizzou-RAH! Mizzou-RAH!

One of the quintessential college activities is football games, and early in the semester it is easy to get dressed for them - college tee or tank, shorts, sandals. But, as the weather cools down, it is harder to still be stylish and warm - while showing school spirit! This outfit, which I put together on Polyvore (I am SO addicted to that website), balances school spirit and warmth perfectly. A longsleeve tee under a college tee will keep you warm while mascot earrings and a bag/shoes in school colors show your spirit!

As for me, yesterday I attended my first college football game. I know, blasphemy as it is the end of the season (last game is next weekend), but I got sick during the first game of the season (I didn't even see kickoff) and I never got season tickets so I didn't really think about it. My friend Brittany dragged me to this one and I was convinced that I was going to be bored out of my mind (I'm not really a football person, I greatly prefer college basketball) but I had a GREAT time. It was so much fun and now I'm strongly considering getting season tickets for next year!

I didn't get any pictures at the game, but here is a pic of me and my friends Brittany and Travis after we WON the game!! I say we, you know, because Britt, Trav and I were directly responsible for the win (haha just kidding). But don't you love our noodies?! (hoodies with no hood - aka, a sweatshirt)
Aren't we too cute?

How do you show school spirit at games? Do you even attend them? Fill me in!

Promotions and Winter - They CAN mix!

Winter Wonderland

I love my school's radio station. I love working for it on the promotions team and going to events and talking to people -- which is what I'm doing tonight! While most promotions events are inside, requiring a cute top and jeans, the event is outside -- in the nice chilly 38 degree weather.

The layering is one the most important parts of this outfit - sweater than jacket - and some cute winter accessories top it off! A beautiful beret and mittens will keep it cozy while I'm mingling with guests and pearls keep it classy. Matching boots and coat keep it cohesive and the sweater is a goregous gold, a beautiful pop of color!

How will you be looking cute this winter season? Any big events coming up?
